C.U.P.I.D.
– sounds like a dating agency – however, so far we haven’t had any weddings! The name stands for Colostomy, Urostomy, Pouch, and Ileostomy of Dorset.

C.U.P.ID. was formed 11 years ago to provide support to patients before, during and after stoma surgery. The Group is run by trained Volunteer Visitors who are all ex – patients so know what it is like to live with a stoma. Regular, bi – monthly meetings are held in the afternoon in the Bournemouth and Poole areas where you are welcome to come along with a friend or a partner for a cup of tea and a chat with like-minded, friendly and supportive people. There are no speakers however, on occasions, representatives from Manufacturers of Stoma goods or Home Delivery Companies attend. Everyone is welcome to these informal meetings.

Open Day

A very successful Open Day was held on Saturday 25th October 2008 at the Village Hotel, Bournemouth.

Approximately 200 people attended and were able to see and discuss new equipment with all the current manufacturers. Also present were some of the home delivery companies and the three stoma associations.

The stoma nurses were on hand to give advice and to meet new patients.

After all expenses were paid a cheque for £1150 was presented to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital Jigsaw Appeal.
