CUPID - Who are we?
Colostomy
Support Group of Dorset - a helping hand
CUPID – sounds like
a dating agency – however, so far we haven’t had any weddings! The
name stands for Colostomy, Urostomy, Pouch, and Ileostomy of Dorset.
CUPID was formed 14 years ago to provide support to
patients before, during and after stoma surgery. The Group is run by
trained Volunteer Visitors who are all ex – patients so know what it
is like to live with a stoma. Regular, bi – monthly meetings are held
in the afternoon in the Bournemouth and Poole areas where you are
welcome to come along with a friend or a partner for a cup of tea and
a chat with like-minded, friendly and supportive people. There are no
speakers however, on occasions, representatives from Manufacturers of
Stoma goods or Home Delivery Companies attend. Everyone is welcome to
these informal meetings.
